Pakistan army or the well renowned word "establishment (armed forces, ISI etc...)" is not sincere to the people of Pakistan or Islam either. Pakistan army behaves mysteriously and the only thought comes to one's mind is that the establishment works for the existence of Pakistan, it doesn't matters if a few hundred thousand people gets killed in the process. To summarize current performance of Pakistan army locally and internationally in one word it would be "CLUNKY".
Every Pakistani has authority to raise questions about Performance of Pakistani Army as we pay for them (even loans they take are going to get paid by us so..), today in 2012 we have to judge them objectively and not emotionally or how religious they are or should be. Pakistani Army has proved itself not to be overly attached to people of Pakistan (failed defense on drone attacks, failed to protect people from Abbotabad operation, brutal firing squad styled execution of people first by MP-5 and 5mins later individual head shots with G3 all that without proper trial) or religion (execution without trail is not very Islamic). Currently every institution of Pakistan has reached its level of Fironiat over people of Pakistan and consuming them in process, if we don't question them, no one ever will, every first world nation love a non-competing, poverty stricken 3rd world nation that Pakistan has become.
Our Armed forces work on the philosophy of "whether you (Pakistani People) exist or not this country is going to exist anyway". But such approach is an AD-HOC approach and shows immaturity that exists within Pakistani Army. Winning medals in Britain for Best Army of the World doesn't mean that one is capable of modern warfare. Wars of our times are more focused on using brain power and demonizing your opponent in front of the rest of the world than charging your guns all the way, later is the approach used by our Pakistan Army which is a sad fact.
There is a long list of strategies that one can think of between using one's BRAIN power and using the GUN power. For instance, scholars (non-muslims) of foreign countries when visit Pakistan ask universities / authorities of Pakistan that why you have failed and failing to defend your country and your religion? such questions are very valid, internationally perhaps only Musharraf did defense of Pakistan than any one else, but we failed to produce religious scholars who actively address country wide religious issues locally and internationally (Lal masjid, Ramond Davis ...). Now such religious cases are tough to defend, one way or the other you would get tones of people angry at your stance but taking a stance is better than total silence.
Now the Pakistani Army has 50% or more than that (some say its about 80%) budget of Pakistan annually. Buying guns and fire power toys are acceptable, but the area where Pakistan's Army lacking is perhaps doing research (active religious scholars, active scientists), e.g. If our religious scholars can't stance on tough national issue they are useless, similarly scientists and other such researchers are useless to nation if Pakistan Army have to keep crying/begging about procuring drone planes, bird shaped drones (produced by MIT students in the first place, later used by DOD), F16's and what not. It all boils down to this, we disrespect work of our own people and don't invest in them, rather we purchase goods and invest in nations that want total global domination (USA/NATO) and keep their Gun factories in business. If we invest in our people we can produce strategists that continuously demonize our enemies in not just local but international media as well. But all this way of thinking and mindset is perhaps scarce at Pakistan army.
Pakistan Army has learned 1 thing in past 10 years "doing false flag attacks" (Marriot Hotel, Mehran Air Base ...), but while staging such events they fail to handle a few or one too many variables in the equation, e.g. Media Job is poorly done, local job is weak, internationally its bleak which results into not making the big impact you are hoping for. Do clandestine activities you want but do it like United States that bluntly lies about killing Osama Bin Laden, doesn't provides any evidence, rotates and brainwashes people minds that everyone is forced to believe their version and those who make objections are rejected by the society or called traitors. The only way a nation to emerge as a strong nation is by conditioning them with your media, by making them financially prosperous or by any other means that does not involve using guns or force, just remember what i mentioned earlier, there exists a long list of strategies that one can use and in the process we don't have to be sticking with one extreme (GUNS) or the other (Total silence on drone attacks, etc).
Just like the clock is ticking for corrupt, immoral and disgraceful politicians of PML-N, PML-Q, PPP and other false democracy chanting political parties, it will not take long enough when people of Pakistan would ask questions about performance of Pakistani Army and hold them accountable for their acts. It would be great if Pakistan Army start to realize the capabilities of Pakistani People in a timely manner and start investing in them before they are stripped of their magical and untamed powers they are enjoying since Pakistan's existence.

A few weeks back i read in newspaper that the total budget of army is around only the quarter of the whole budget .. the major part goes in debt and IMF... and the other if left goes in the politicians pocket.
